Making Marks

Full-dome projection installation, 2019

Our world has always changed. Inside caves like this one at Whitburn on the North East coast, we find the marks of how the world used to be...

What world do you want for those who come next?

How will you leave your mark?

A full-dome projection piece with accompanying soundscapes, telling stories about climate change and sustainability. The audience are invited to draw their own contributions, which are incorporated into the artwork in real time.

This piece was a collaboration with Simon Bowen and David de la Haye. It includes voice contributions from Sarah Mander and Ali Ford of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, as well as narration by Jo Whitfield.

The piece was shown at the Great North Museum: Hancock as part of their Great North Nights series, accompanying the Natural History Museum's Dippy On Tour.

This work was supported by the Great North Museum: Hancock, Newcastle University's Open Lab, and the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research.
